These are exciting times!  With a shift in the way we define work, career, jobs, and entrepreneurship, there are limitless opportunities to create a lifestyle where we are living and doing what we love.  A job is no longer defined by a 9am – 5 pm workday, nor does it have to be Monday – Friday.  When choosing a career path, we aren’t restricted to any one industry, geographic area or position.  In fact, with the ever-evolving technology industry and the increased reliance and importance of social media in both the personal and professional sectors, regardless of where we are physically located, we have become each other’s next-door neighbors.  We are a global society!  There are numerous opportunities to network, build relationships and even collaborate with an individual or company.  We might decide to have one job or develop a portfolio with two businesses or careers that integrate our full range of unique gifts and talents.  The ability to create a dynamic life is a dream come true; yet all of this potential and possibility, combined with our dreaming big, can result in an overwhelming feeling of where to begin.  Is it that there are now too many choices or have we not taken the time to dig in deep and discover the who we are, our work and life values, and what we truly need and want.  Have we mastered our message?

Lately much of my days have been spent building relationships, connecting with others or serving as the “connector” for others to meet, and collaborating on upcoming projects.  When I graduated from college 20 years ago, I couldn’t imagine this type of life being possible because I had ingrained in my mind that I had to have all of the answers to what I wanted to do with the rest of my life by age 21.  With this new creative approach to the professional sector, which relies heavily on personal interaction, I’ve found what I need to know requires a combination of an internal and external process to get to know me, what I’m about, as well as who I want to reach out to and their needs.  It’s time to know our “WOW” factor!

What values are important to you and what do you find yourself talking about and/or sharing on a daily basis?  What are your passions in your personal and professional lives and do they intersect?  Whenever I pose these questions to my clients or an audience, I can see the wheels begin to spin.  We take for granted that we know these answers and can access them in an instance; however, because this connects to what comes naturally to us we don’t always realize their importance or impact.  It’s essential to know what your objectives are, as well as acknowledging any challenges or blocks that have been anchoring you.

How do you construct your values into a clear and energetic message?  Once you decide the types of networking events you’d like to attend or the type of industry you want to work in, how do you present your “wow” factor?  It’s important to research these opportunities prior to arriving in order to know who is attending, as well as understanding the theme.  Knowing your audience, whether it be for a large function or a one-on-one meeting, before showing up strengthens your confidence and positions you to know what they need and how you fit into the equation.

I believe we are living in a time where authenticity, transparency, sincerity and honesty are imperative to success in all areas of our lives.  By mastering our message we become masters of our image and how we communicate.  We know our authentic selves and those we want to attract.  Instead of feeling weighed down by too many choices, we have a clear direction toward the manifestation of our goals and dreams.  Our journey becomes filled with enthusiasm and exuberance.  Are you ready to participate in creating your dynamic and delicious life?
