• A morning of gratitude

I woke up this morning feeling like I could sleep the day away.  Although my heart is very much filled with joy, the rest of my body is focused on the comfy pillow and down comforter still warm from last night’s sleep.  There’s a part of me that wants to push the envelope this morning and knock out a list of items and projects before I head to Boston for a conference, but my heart is telling me that this morning is about reflection.  The “me” time I so often tell people to embrace, even if you only start with 5 minutes to breathe, is essential and why should I not walk my own talk.  I feel like today is about gratitude, appreciation and acknowledging ~ of those that made a difference in my life and what I did to give back to the world (or at least those within my reach).

I am grateful for two young brothers in my building that reminded me earlier in the week to always find adventure and tap into my inner child of imagination.  (The elevator ride down to a basement filled with pirates was not without a plan!)

Thank you to my friends at Starbucks in the Bloomberg Building and near Symphony Space who always greet me with a smile, have my order ready before I reach the counter to pay, and ask me to have a great day.

For a tiny note left on Britt Hall’s desk reminding me that my voice has purpose.

To the women of the New York Junior League for organizing a insightful and important event on Beauty, asking me to speak, and offering a forum for an open discussion on changing our perception.

To my clients who inspire me every day to reach further.

For all of you participating in Turning Off Your TV & Tuning into You week and sharing with me your struggles and wins.

Thank you for the beautiful thunderstorms yesterday afternoon that brought me back home to Florida.

To the kick ass, dynamic and empowered women in my life who support, motivate, make me laugh and love me.  Ya’ll rock!

For my trip this weekend to Boston where I’m going to reach for a dream.

For the gifts of “me” time and silence this week.

And to the most amazing man, best friend, and husband anyone could ever dream to have in their life, Jim Melis.  You keep me grounded and reaching for the stars every day.  I love you.

    Now…where’s my tea.
